Second day - pm
In the afternoon, incident room filming was taking place with Tony Robinson and Jane Sidel. They were covering some of the results of the core survey. This has some interesting implications for our structure. Was it a bridge or a jetty or something else? We’re afraid that we can’t let you know that just yet, but rest assured this is starting to look like a really intriguing programme.

To get some more in-depth information on the landscape Onsite caught up with Stewart Ainsworth but all he would say was 'I’ll let you know when I’m more sure about what’s going on.' Still keeping his theories close to his chest as usual!

So is the programme coming together and how are things working out? The only man to ask is the director of this programme, Michael Douglas.
‘I feel surprisingly calm. We have so many archaeology experts working on this who all seam to be happy with what’s being found. We’re discovering new things that they did not know about two days ago. It’s all going really well, but we have so much information here it’s really going to take me to the editing stage before I can put it all together.’
What about working in the tense environment of the tidal river?
‘Sorry to use a cliché but it’s very challenging. This morning we had three crews all shooting around one little trench.'

'One thing’s for sure, we cannot argue with the Thames. We have two hours and that’s it. We just have to cope with the elements and shoot everything we can. It’s quite thrilling. I can’t wait until tomorrow when we’ll get all of the experts together in one place and pull in all of the information.’

Closing on the second day there’s still a lot to do. Day three will see Onsite investigating the reconstruction cameo, hopefully the lifting of the post, some information on Bronze Age artefacts and the latest on what we can tell you from the waterfront.
